CRIPES (Cardiff Research into Infection and Parasites in Ecological Systems) is a research group within the Organisms and Environment Division in the School of Biosciences at Cardiff University.

We study the ecology of infectious diseases. Within this emerging field, our research questions include the impact of host behaviour and social networks on parasite transmission, micro-marcobiome interactions, climate change and parasitism and the interactions between co-infecting parasites within the same host animal.

We work on a number of host systems; currently, the German cockroach (Blattella germanica), signal crayfish (Pacifastacus leniusculus), the guppy (Poecilia reticulata), the threespined stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus) and wild rodents and their micro/macrobiota community.

You can find more details about our research questions and study systems here.
